As part of the Association for Multicultural Scientists (AMS) Sierra (the current AMS outreach coordinator) and Torrin demonstrated genetics concepts to children at the Michigan Science Center in Detroit. Sierra demonstrated the vast differences in genome sizes across different species and Torrin demonstrated the genetic determinants of being able to taste bitterness (Phenylthiocarbamide).
